Musical Soul of India: Festivals, Bhakti, Sufiana

India is a land where myriad sub-cultures, religions, and arts co-exist and thrive. This concert celebrates devotional and spiritual music, drawing from various folk traditions of India.

The Bhakti and Sufi tradition of India include devotional poetry from the great saints who were also social reformers working to dispel dogma, discrimination and oppression in society. The concert presents rich folk traditions spanning from Bengal in the East to the hills of North India, and from Rajasthan in the North West to South India, creating a colorful mix of rhythms, beats and styles of music along with a strong message of oneness and peace.
