Music Education

There are many facets to learning music. Some do it as a joy for themselves, some to challenge themselves and explore new artistic outlets and some hope to be professional musicians. A good teacher/guru meets the students where they are, with no agendas, and tries to simply provide a fulfilling and inspiring experience of music in the form they seek it. The greater goal is building shared musical experiences as an inspired community.

Music education involves four key aspects:

theory, technique, knowledge and art.

  • Weekly Group Lessons

These are weekly lessons with Samarth. Depending on the student’s previous training and future goals, they are placed in groups of up to 3 or 5 students, who are all aligned in their musical quest and can benefit from each other’s experience. Group lessons may be in-person or online via Zoom. All classes are recorded and shared on a group Google folder for students to access in case of missed classes. Additionally, students will gain supplemental musical and cultural context, vital to learning this art form, through the Samarth Nagarkar’s Patreon Page and his book Raga Sangeet.

  • Individual [1:1] lessons

Individual lessons give students the ability to focus on their specific areas of improvement and chart their own course and pace of growth. These may be online, in-person or a combination of both. Additionally, students will gain supplemental musical and cultural context, vital to learning this art form, through the Samarth Nagarkar’s Patreon Page and his book Raga Sangeet.
